The SNHS Board has approved several new proposals:

1. Sophomore students are eligible for the SNHS if they have satisfied all requirements for membership.

2. Students from American Schools connected to the Armed Forces or other official operations outside of the US are eligible.

3. Home School students are eligible if they satisfy all requirements for membership. Rules  are being worked out for this group.

We will post the requirements for these new groups of members here on the SNHS web site.

The SNHS is working on the details on a contest to find the best chapter in the country.  This would allow the chance for each chapter to enter to win a significant prize for your school.  More details soon!

SNHS Vision

America has been honoring brilliant students through honor societies since 1921. Educators began to notice the need for subject specific honor societies in America’s high schools in the 1980's. Since then, new honor societies have sprung up to recognize and encourage students in such areas as English, Art, French, and Spanish. Until now, there has been no national honor society for Science. In this era of rapidly changing technologies and scientific advancement, it is time to encourage and recognize high school students in the Sciences.

It is time for the Science National Honor Society:

SNHS will be the prominent scientific organization that will engender a new group of young thinkers who will be the future of industry, research, and scientific exploration for America.

(SNHS is not directly affiliated with the National Honor Society but we do maintain a cordial and professional relationship with that organization.)
