Chapter Resources

Sample Initiation Ceremonies
These induction ceremonies were created by high schools just like yours. SHNS felt that they should be shared by all the chapters and may be used if desired.

Bylaws for Chapters
Here are the official bylaws and constitution of the SNHS.  This document can be used and modified to fit the situations at each school.  Grade requirements specified in this document can be raised but not lowered at any of the chapters.

Annual Report
The SNHS attempted to start a blog that would be useful for each chapter to communicate to other chapters.  That did not work.  Hackers in the form of hackers attacked the system relentlessly and posted advtertisements for drugs daily.  We have abandoned that idea.

Each Chapter Advisor is allowed to send us a report that documents the activities that their chapter has accomplished during the school year.  Chapters should report on activities, lecturers, and accomplishments to the National office but for all the other Chapter to see as well.  Teachers can do that report themselves or have a student write up the chapter accomplishments. When you submit the report , they will be reviewed here at SNHS and then will be posted up when they are approved.

SNHS Tax Form
On October 5, 2001, the SNHS was approved by the IRS as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization. Download a copy of the W-9 form to show the tax ID number for the SNHS if needed by your administration.

SNHS Logo Files for Printing
These files can be used as needed. The JPG files are best applied to websites or smaller image applications. The AI or EPS files can be used for printing more detailed items or large format applications, i.e., banners. Your graphics department or print shop will know how to work with the appropriate format.

Scholarship Opportunities

Yale University    Deadline - September 27, 2017

Dear Mr. Hughes,

Yale University is proud to partner with QuestBridge, a nonprofit that helps high-achieving, low-income students gain admission and full four-year scholarships to the nation's best colleges. As Dean of Undergraduate Admissions at Yale, I believe the QuestBridge National College Match can assist students in your community in the college application process, and I encourage you to refer your qualified high school seniors today. The deadline for students to apply is September 27, 2017.

Yale is one of 39 top colleges that partners with QuestBridge to find outstanding students to join our campus community. Through the National College Match, students can apply for admission and full four-year scholarships to multiple top colleges. This past year, QuestBridge college partners admitted more than 2,500 students with full scholarships or generous financial aid through the National College Match.

The QuestBridge application is unique because it includes space for students to share their academic strengths, experiences, and identities. As the members of the Yale Admissions Committee and I select students to join our diverse community of scholars who represent all backgrounds, interests, and beliefs, we find these insights especially valuable.

I encourage you to refer qualified students for the National College Match. Your referral could make a life-changing impact on your student’s future.

Sincerely,

Jeremiah Quinlan
Dean of Undergraduate Admissions
